OAKVILLE, Napa County — Oakville residents should be careful with older online Post Office listings that still display retail hours for the former Oakville location on St. Helena Highway.

In a June 27, 2024 official announcement, the United States Postal Service said it was transferring Oakville retail and PO Box operations to the Yountville Post Office, 6514 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599, because the Oakville building lease had ended.

What happened to PO Box numbers?

The USPS notice explicitly instructed Oakville customers not to change their PO Box number, city or ZIP code during that temporary transfer. It listed Yountville retail service Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those are the hours announced in 2024, not a guarantee that a particular office follows them on every date in 2026.

What to do now

For a current visit, use the official USPS Post Office locator to confirm operational status and current hours, or contact USPS customer service. Some third-party pages still show historical Oakville hours without reflecting the relocation.

The Postal Service said it was seeking another permanent Oakville location. The initial announcement does not by itself establish that such a location has opened.
