OAKVILLE, Napa County — Napa County celebrated the completion of a new bridge on Dry Creek Road serving travelers between the Oakville and Kenwood areas in April 2026.

According to the county announcement dated April 2, the project replaced a roughly 100-year-old, one-lane bridge with an approximately 80-foot bridge and about 900 feet of new roadway. The site is approximately 0.8 mile west of Mt. Veeder Road.

What changed for drivers?

The county said the older crossing had seismic vulnerabilities and sharp curves nearby. The replacement was designed to improve travel safety, access for emergency responders and reliability along an important rural route linking the two parts of wine country.

When did traffic begin using it?

The county announced the opening of one lane for two-way traffic on April 3, with full two-lane access expected in early May, depending on conditions. Those were the anticipated operating dates in the announcement. Travelers should not assume that any later restrictions or remaining work have been resolved without checking current road notices.

The county placed the project cost at approximately $11 million, using federal bridge funding, local sales-tax resources and county funds. Specific project expenditures should be verified in the final accounting documents.
